General Rules and Code of Conduct


1. “In everything do to others as you would have them do to you” (The Gospel of St. Matthew 7:12).
2. Follow requests and directives given by the Institute instructors, staff, and night angels.
3. You are expected to be on time for worship, classes, meals and all activities.
4. Classes will be dismissed by the teachers, not the bell. Do not be discourteous by getting up before you are dismissed.
5. The hours between 11:00 P.M. and 6:30 A.M. are quiet hours.
6. Keep voices down in the hallways at all times.
7. Do not run in the hallways.
8. Wear shoes and street clothes in all public areas at all times.
9. Turn off lights in the rooms and bathrooms when not in use.
10. Keep the center clean at all times. Do not leave trash anywhere.
11. Absolutely no food or drinks in your rooms.
12. Do not remove blankets and pillows from your rooms.
13. Furniture is not to be rearranged.
14. Do not use tapes, tacks or fasteners on the walls or ceilings of the facilities.
15. If you are staying at the Dalton House, you may not go to the Mansion under any circumstances, except for the dining area during meal hours.
16. Bedrooms are private, personal space provided for sleeping, reading and quiet time. Please use the lounges for visiting.
17. You may not leave the premises.

 
Breaking these rules will result in disciplinary action
Depending upon the seriousness of the transgression, the Institute has the option of asking that person’s parents to come and take him or her home.


Before your departure:
• Strip your bed (leaving the mattress pad in place) and put the sheets in the pillowcase and leave it in the hallway outside your bedroom door.
• Fold the blanket and the bedspread neatly and place them with the pillow on the bed.
• Close the windows and turn off all lights.
