Musical Armenia Dazzles

The 23rd Musical Armenia concert took place on Sunday, February 26, to a sold out house at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall. The featured artists—ZULAL trio and DUO MAESTOSO—received standing ovations from an appreciative audience.

The ZULAL a cappella trio features the talents of Teny Apelian, Anais Tekerian, and Yeraz Markarian. They expertly and beautifully re-create authentic Armenian folk songs with a captivating stage presence. Their concise explanations about each song make their presentation even more endearing.

The audience enthusiastically received DUO MAESTOSO—the piano team of Gianeh & Ovanes Arakelyan. The duo’s outstanding technique was dazzling as they effortlessly went through their program, which included the works of Liszt, Saint-Saens, Prokofiev, Khachaturian, Babadjanian and Arutunian.

Musical Armenia is presented by the Eastern Prelacy of the Armenian Apostolic Church of America with the sponsorship of the Prelacy Ladies Guild.
